The MCD7007 is a very well-regarded CD player, running the top-of-the-line "Golden Crown" dual-DAC chipet. As you can expect from McIntosh, this unit functions just as it did when it left the factory over 30 years ago. If you look closely, you'll see a few freckles around the readout, but they fade away at a listening distance. What's really special about this player is the "Variable Output" which enables a direct connection to your power amp. The ability to bypass your preamp really gives this player an edge over the more recent McIntosh CD players with fixed outputs only.
