Here's a beautiful example of one of the most collectible pieces around. The 3600 has long been considered one of Marantz’s finest solid state preamp pairings, with quality components and a straightforward gain stage. This preamp will handle any moving-magnet cartridge you can throw at it, and the RIAA accuracy in the 3600 was second to none. There's even a dedicated scope output. It's a big boy preamp.
This piece is right and tight. All of the electrolytic caps have been replaced and everything was adjusted to Marantz spec. The protection was bypassed by a previous owner, so turn your amp on last – like you always do. You always do that, right?

- Liner Notes
I agree it's an excellent preamp. It has the typical Marantz analog sound and it's very pleasing to listen to. There's enough tone controls to fine tune your speakers if you like or you can also run them bypassed. The speaker switch is also another handy feature you don't see very often on a straight preamp. I've gotten a lot of comments on mine over the years both for the sound and for the vintage look it has as well.
