Pure Fidelity Stratos MC // New / Moving Coil Phono Cartridge
$2,495The Stratos MC is the kind of cartridge that quietly resets your expectations of what a moving-coil at this price can deliver. Pure Fidelity's duralumin body — a tight alloy of aluminum, copper, and magnesium — keeps the structure rigid and resonance-free, letting the samarium-cobalt generator and solid aluminum cantilever do their work without interference. What you hear is an organic, three-dimensional midrange that stays rooted even as transients arrive fast and unannounced; the soundstage doesn't merely widen, it deepens. Dynamic contrasts feel genuine rather than exaggerated, and the micro-elliptical stylus traces fine groove detail with patience and precision. It's the kind of cartridge that vanishes into the music after the first track.
