The new McIntosh XR16 speaker system is the latest development for McIntosh Acoustic Development and Research Facility. The XR16 features a new woofer design, critically damped for complete control of cone motion. High temperature voice coil allows the powerful design to handle 200W of program power. The new crossover network, design using response-time techniques, together with in-line alignment of speaker elements, and precise control of crossover network frequencies gives steady stereo imaging at all frequencies between left and right speakers. The XR 16s can incredibly re-create all the depth and spaciousness that is put into a recording.
