The L100. Arguably the most iconic loudspeaker of all time. There was a period in the 70's the L100 outsold all other speakers combined, yet it never ceases to amaze us how rare it is to find a vintage example in good condition. This is a beautiful pair – we've refreshed the cabinets, replaced the tweeter foam, installed new midrange drivers, and new binding posts. Cosmetically, the tweeter dustcaps have the tiniest dimples, but the gorgeous Lapis Lazuli grilles steal the show. Our fresh cut grilles use modern foam that will outlast your grandkids, and we finish the foam using the same techniques JBL used nearly 50 years ago. For many vintage collectors, the L100 is the holy grail. Amen.

Liner Notes
The renowned JBL 4310 studio monitors' consumer equivalent is the JBL L100 Century. JBL already had a solid reputation for producing full-size studio monitors that were quite accurate in the late 1960s. JBL was compelled to start developing the 4310 model due to the growing demand for more compact control room monitors. The specifications were for a 45l enclosure to handle high power handling, high acoustic output without distortion, and smooth frequency response over the whole audio spectrum. The 4310 studio monitors were unveiled by JBL Professional Division two years after the project was first started. Numerous well-known studios, including as Capitol, Deutsche Grammophon, EMI, London/Decca, RCA, etc., immediately adopted these speakers as their preferred option. In fact, the demand for these monitors increased to the point where many musicians and engineers began buying them. Immortalized in the famous Maxell ad campaign, Blown Away, the L100 Century is arguably the most iconic speaker of all time.
