The Altec Valencia 846a are some of the most legendary vintage loudspeakers we've had in the shop. They use the same components as famous A7 "Voice of the Theatre" system, yet loaded in a designer cabinet. This particular pair were originally owned by Cowboy Jack Clemens, used in his personal studio, and were well-cared for. The delicate fretwork grilles had only a few minor issues, but we opted to replace them entirely, adding a beautiful crimson backing cloth in the process. The cabinets were in excellent condition too, but we went over them as well. Such a rare and magnificent find.

- Liner Notes
"Introducing the Altec Valencia 846a. See the glory of Spain, hear the glory of the world's finest speaker systems! Their carved fretwork façades tell of a courtyard, ambuscadoes and Spanish blades. A fiery tale augmented in lustrous grain of hand-rubbed walnut. Behind the fretwork, the same playback speaker components that have made Altec the standard of the nation's broadcast and recording studios for 35 years. The Altec 846a will accommodate any room requirement, from the grand hall of a mansion to the limited space of an apartment." -Altec, 1966
