Stax electrostatic headphones are well known for their reproduction quality. This pair of SR-5 is in great condition – the cables have picked up some character over the years, but there are no worn areas or loose connections. They sound incredible, and the SRD-6 amplifier is in spec. Of course, we've cleaned them thoroughly. With the open-air design, you can still hear your name being called, but that can be our little secret.

Liner Notes

The Stax SR-5 is an excellent earspeaker. While it has a definite family resemblance to the Lambda Pros both visually and sonically, the SR-5 is more like a comfortable, but far less efficient SR-30. The SR-5 doesn’t have a bright zone, and does an excellent job on the lower midrange, giving music adequate weight without sounding thick or slow.
