I've Got Questions

The A-i130 Nova is the kind of integrated amplifier that makes you forget you were supposed to be evaluating gear. The ECC81 tube stage wraps the leading edge of vocals and strings in enough harmonic weight to feel genuinely alive, while 133 watts of Class AB power keeps the picture taut and controlled — warmth without blur, authority without dryness. An ESS9017S DAC running in Quad mode retrieves genuine micro-texture from high-res files, and the ADAU1452 DSP lets you tune speaker placement to your actual room rather than hoping it works out. HDMI eARC brings your television into the signal chain without compromise; two expansion slots accommodate optional streaming and Bluetooth modules; and the ALPS volume pot reminds you this was designed to be touched every day. An amplifier built to grow, not to obsolesce.

Liner Notes

The NOVA A-I130 is based on the conviction that nothing replaces the warmth of a tube for reproducing vibrant music. The ECC81 tube preamp stage introduces a harmonic richness that transistors alone cannot provide—a depth of soundstage, a visceral presence of sound. But warmth without control is not high fidelity. That's why the Class AB amplification section, powered by a 380 VA toroidal transformer, takes over with authority—capturing the most demanding dynamics, governing the most recalcitrant speakers. Downstream, the ADAU1452 4-channel DSP and the ESS9017S DAC in Quad mode ensure that none of this precision is lost along the way. From tube to speaker: absolute coherence.

The NOVA's 4-channel DSP adjusts each speaker—speakers and subwoofers—according to its position. The result: controlled bass, a stable soundstage, and speakers that fade into the background, allowing the music to take center stage. Studio-quality precision, accessible from your amplifier.

The NOVA's HDMI eARC solves modern television audio integration: a single connection transmits the native, unaltered signal, processed by the ESS9017S DSP and DAC—without compromise. Seamless integration: your TV remote controls everything. Audiophile performance. Intuitive use. The NOVA also prioritizes expandability with two dedicated expansion slots: one for the A-NTC streaming cartridge, one for the A-BTC Bluetooth dongle—allowing your amplifier to grow with technology, without becoming obsolete.
