The Sonus Faber Lilium is what happens when speaker design leans as hard into art as it does into sound—curved wood, leather accents, and that unmistakable Italian sense of style that makes it feel more like a sculpture than a component. But once you hit play, it backs it up in a big way: expansive, immersive, and effortlessly musical. There’s a richness to the presentation—lush mids, airy highs, and a deep, controlled low end—that fills the room without ever feeling forced. It doesn’t just throw detail at you; it draws you in with texture and emotion, making everything feel a little more alive. The Lilium isn’t about subtlety—it’s about creating a full-on listening experience that looks as stunning as it sounds.
We have one of the tweeter guards. The missing one is on order from Sonus Faber. A few of the terminal jumpers were missing when we got them. We added jumpers for testing and for the next owner of these absolutely amazing speakers to be able to use until the factory jumpers arrive.

Lilium unites two cabinets into a unique fusion of style and technology. This endeavor captures Sonus faber's heritage while embracing groundbreaking innovations by our Research and Development team. Lilium harmonizes two distinct acoustic chambers to deliver both powerful low frequencies as well as the heart of the sound spectrum in pristine fashion.
The lyre-shaped front cabinet, designed for forward sound emission, ensures structural strength and efficient energy management. Meanwhile, the rear cabinet, designed for infra-low frequencies, eliminates resonance with strategic reinforcements. Lilium's front and rear cabinets use different materials – finely grained hard walnut wood for the front and soft leather for the rear - a design that reinforces the duality of the speaker’s engineering philosophy.
Deriving its name from the Latin word for “lily”, Lilium’s design seamlessly merges two distinct identities within a classical "lyre" silhouette. This synthesis of natural shapes exudes grace and harmony. Its top plate, made of tempered glass, mirrors the lily's form, revealing the passive radiator beneath. Infra-low frequencies travel through the pavement for optimal sound dispersion, and frequency modulation fine-tunes the passive radiator's movement.
