This Nakamichi 1000P is a beautiful piece - whether you run it as a preamp or a DAC, you'll love its clean analog output piped straight to your amp. As audiophiles know, Nakamichi sparingly gave the "1000" moniker to a few different components over the years - only the best of the best – and of course, this component was part of Nakamichi's flagship system in 1989. It's truly a special piece, and includes the sought after DA-111p premium board.

- Liner Notes
The Nakamichi 1000P, released in 1989, is an audiophile-grade hifi DAC. It features a 20-bit 8x oversampling digital filter. The DAC circuit has 3 key technologies: digital ROM calibration, a tandem 20-bit converter, and a glitch eliminator. Conversion is performed with high accuracy and low distortion at the theoretical limit. Playback quality is excellent, with a <0.0005% THD and a dynamic range of >100 dB (SNR 105 dB). Sampling rates are 32, 44.1, and 48 kHz. It has balanced outputs and a headphone output. The design of the 1000P is highly attractive. All in all, it’s a great unit, built to a high standard of quality.
