JBL Lancer 99 / Athena S99 // Vintage Speakers
SOLD , now part of a Private CollectionThis immaculate pair rolled off the line as the Lancer 99, one of the first active speakers on the market, over 50 years ago (yes, powered). JBL also offered a passive version of this cabinet – known as the Athena S99 – so identical that the pair share a manual. Along the way, this pair received the S99 treatment, where the "Energizer Module" was smartly removed from the main cabinet, so that these could be used with standalone components. The cabinets themselves were sympathetically restored and are now in beautiful condition, and the hand carved, fretwork grills are perfectly intact. It's so rare to find a set with the original grills – this is a true survivor pair.
