The Simaudio Moon Orion is the kind of digital source that doesn’t try to impress you in the first five minutes—it just keeps getting better the longer you listen. It has this calm, confident way of presenting music: smooth, open, and completely unforced, with none of that edgy, over-etched character that can make digital feel… well, digital. Instead, it leans into flow and musicality, letting vocals sit naturally and instruments breathe without spotlighting every detail. Whether you’re spinning CDs or using it as a DAC, the Orion has that rare ability to disappear, leaving you with nothing but the music and the quiet realization that you’ve been listening way longer than you planned.

- Liner Notes
- Offering extreme flexibility, the MOON Orion could be purchased as either a DVD Transport or a DVD Player, the latter including optional high quality analog audio outputs. To further enhance this modular concept, an optional progressive scan line doubler circuit using Faroudja's DCDi™ (Diagonal Correlation Deinterlacing) technology, was also available. Either or both of these options could be purchased with the transport or as an upgrade. By applying the same non-compromising design approach found in the more expensive Stellar DVD Player, the MOON Orion represents true state-of-the-art video performance with many of the same user-friendly features and functions.
