Stolen Klipsch Cornwall I // Rosewood Horn Speakers / Custom Restoration
🚨 STOLEN! Please contact us with any info. Please keep an eye out for these custom Cornwalls in a very distinctive rosewood, with serial numbers 32X464 and 32X463. There's a natural flaw in the wood that showed up as a faint line on either side of the woofers. There's not another pair in the world that look like these. The faces have countersunk magnets for mounting grilles – even if these were painted or defaced, the magnets would still be there, almost like a microchip. They were purchased online using a stolen card, and picked up in person before the card was reported. Suspect shown in the last three photos was driving a white Subaru Crosstrek with Florida tag 63BYMX. If you have any information, please contact us.
Shortly after this news broke, both FOX31's Courtney Fromm and CBS4's Michael Abeyta ran stories which you can see here.
This pair of custom restored Cornwall I's are the culmination of why we do what we do; Giving well loved vintage gear a second life. The face has been shaved flush. They've been professionally veneered in stunning bookmatched panels of Rosewood. We've replaced the original speaker terminals with silver banana terminal cups and relocated them to the bottom of the speaker. The tweeters have been upgraded with Crites diaphragms. The crossovers have been rebuilt with Mundorf EVO oil caps. We've recessed magnets behind the veneer to accept a custom grill on standoffs. And we've added 1.5" antique brass casters to ease room positioning. They are the best sounding (and looking) Cornwall set that we've ever had the pleasure listening to. To add your own personal touch, the new owner of these exceptional horn-loaded loudspeakers gets to choose the grill cloth from 100's of unique options that we have available.
