Sugden's proprietary VCV circuit — high-impedance input, current gain into a folded cascode, Class A output — gives the analogue stage a wide, unhurried bandwidth that never sounds forced. The digital side borrows the non-oversampling, non-filtering-in-the-digital-domain philosophy from Sugden's standalone DAC-4: data gets reformed before conversion, then handed off to an analogue filter that keeps things open and natural. Six analogue inputs, six digital, balanced in and out — it's a genuinely capable hub. Feed it a CD transport via coax or a laptop via USB and what comes back has that distinctly British directness: authoritative, transparent, and entirely unmoved by any urge to flatter.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Sugden","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":68438306128093,"sku":null,"price":5995.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0478\/4884\/9576\/files\/Sugden_SapphireDAP800_Front_001_5x4_ea6a9fcb-18c0-4701-a72e-7f3af423616c.jpg?v=1793919030","url":"https:\/\/auralhifi.com\/products\/sugden-sapphire-dap-800-new-solid-state-preamplifier","provider":"Aural HiFi","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
